Library

The school library is located in the main building and is a busy, bustling and welcoming hub that our chidren love spending time in.  Mrs Pugsley and Mrs Kingdon, our Librarians, endeavour to create a vibrant, colourful environment that both children and families enjoy visiting.

Our main focus is on enjoyment for reading and, with our well stocked shelves, there is something for everyone.  Children are encouraged to borrow books to take home to read. They are allowed to borrow one book in Key Stage 1 and up to two books at a time in Key Stage 2.

We also have three computers which the children use for independent research, accessing Junior Librarian and practising skills learned during Computing lessons.

We have various reading incentives in order to encourage our children to read more, for example Book Worms and Book Maze. We also actively promote World Book Day with each class taking part in fun and exciting activities based around reading, host Book Fairs and take part in other literary events.

Opening Times

We are open before school from 8:30 - 8:55 every morning.

During this time, you can return and renew books, browse or simply enjoy reading a book with your child.

During the school day, all classes get the opportunity to visit the library in small groups.

During this time, they can change their reading books, find out about new titles, listen to stories and play spelling and word games.

At lunchtime, many of the children enjoy visiting the library where they can use the computers, browse or read for pleasure.  We have several pupil librarians who do a fantastic job at assisting Mrs Pugsley or Mrs Kingdon, reading to children and helping with the reading incentives.

We are open after school from 3:15 - 3:30 everyday.

During this time, you can return and renew books, browse or simply enjoy reading a book with your child.
